We have 14 consultants who have specialist knowledge in Intensive Care Medicine. They are available 24 hours each day. Together with other consultants who specialise in other areas of medicine, they will make decisions on the best course of treatment. They are assisted by other doctors called registrars (ST 3-7), specialist trainees ST 1-3 and Foundation doctors (FY1-2) Consultants will conduct daily ward rounds to discuss your relative's test results and progress to make changes to their treatment plans.
